Keeping organisational data completely separate on shared infrastructure. Ingesting four geodata formats with automatic projection detection and bounding-box extraction. Holding interactive rendering smooth across overlapping vector and raster layers with large paginated feature sets. Consuming external OGC services whose capability documents vary widely, without failing on an unreachable endpoint.
Hierarchical file manager for geospatial datasets, handling Shapefile, GeoJSON, GeoPackage and CSV. Map editor with layer styling and attribute inspection. One-click publisher generating shareable URLs for public or organisation-only access. Support for external OGC services, so third-party WMS and WFS layers drop into a map. Business analysis and role definition, then architecture and GeoServer integration design. Backend and frontend were built in parallel - an async REST API against PostGIS, and a single-page map editor with a separate lightweight viewer for published maps. Geospatial format handling and OGC integration followed, then functional, integration and security testing, and containerised deployment behind a reverse proxy with automated CI/CD.
Delivered as a production platform serving municipalities, environmental agencies and GIS professionals across the Netherlands. It consolidates data management, map creation and publication into one web interface, removing the desktop-GIS step from publishing and sharing spatial content. The architecture supports unlimited organisations with complete data isolation, custom branding and locale-specific configuration.
