Forest inventory

Modern software solutions enable accurate forest inventory by harnessing LiDAR laser scanning data. In our case, we utilize a point cloud obtained through onboard scanning, with a density of 12 points per m². Our point cloud data allows us to estimate the number of trees, determine the coordinates of each tree’s canopy apex, and measure their height.

Automated methods provide an approximate accuracy ranging from 60% to 80%. For more precise results, manual correction may be applied. Furthermore, when the scanning process provides clear visibility of tree trunks and their cylindrical shapes, we can also determine the diameter of each tree.
